Rhode Island Snow Day
By Camilla Garrison
Today, February 6, students in Providence (actually all of Rhode Island) enjoy a snow day and parents enjoy a parking ban! Schools are closed all over the state, their usual occupants are looking forward to a day of relaxing. Last night, schoolchildren Camilla and Isaac Garrison were hoping for a school closure or at least a delay. The Garrisons came up with a brilliant idea to maximize their sleeping in opportunity. The kids turned of their alarm clocks and requested that their father (who naturally wakes up at five or six o’clock) should check whether or not school was open and busses were running. If they were, Mr. Garrison was to wake Camilla and Isaac up, and if they weren’t, he must let the children sleep in. This morning, Camilla woke up in bed of natural causes which meant it was indeed a snow day!
Report as of 5:41pm:
The “blizzard” (few inches of snow) we got has turned to delightful, dirty slush. Cheer up with a sweet winter desert: a hot chocolate ice cream float!
