Pull Apart Christmas Tree
By Camilla Garrison
This Pull Apart Christmas Tree recipe was originally from the website delish.com, but the contents of Hannah Garrison’s recipe card is written below. The Pull Apart Christmas Tree Bread was one of the most amazing cheesy/bread combos you ever tasted, a fairly easy recipe since it is really just cheese sticks and store-bought (I guess you could make it homemade) pizza dough with some extra herb and cheese goodness on top, served with warm marinara sauce. A perfect recipe for Christmas Eve or Christmas dinner, or maybe reshaped into balloons or numbers for a birthday, this just might turn into a staple, special occasion meal in the Garrison household.
INGREDIENTS:
1 lb refrigerated pizza dough
Egg wash (1 egg and 1 Tbsp water)
7 string cheeze (mozzarella)
1/4 c melted butter
1/2 c grated Parmesean
1 Tbsp basil
1 Tbsp parsley
1 Tbsp rosemary
Marinara Sauce, warm for serving
DIRECTIONS:
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 400* and line large baking sheet with parchment. Cut mozzarella into 1” pieces.
Step 2
On floured surface divide dough into 2 parts. Stretch + roll dough into long rectangles and cut into 2” squares (about 33).
Step 3
Wrap dough around cheese, place seam down. Brush with egg wash.
Step 4
Bake until golden 15-20 minutes (can turn up to 425*).
Step 5
Whisk together herbs and butter and Parmesean and brush over baked balls. Serve with marinara to dip. Enjoy!
